Italian Sausage and Triple Bean Soup
I like to think cold Winter days are for making soup and sitting by the fire, however life doesn’t aways allow us that kind of time everyday to just sit and relax. Life these days are busy, what with work, after school activities, homework and keeping up the household, it is great to have easy recipes that don’t take much preparation.
I save time by utilizing my crock pot at times. Any recipe that allows me to sauté then dump everything in a pot and let it simmer is ok by me!
Hearty Rich Tomato Base In Italian Sausage And Triple Bean Soup
I personally like to use my pressure cooker for so many things, and like the Insta Pot, it has many functions. It can cook with high pressure so food cooks quickly, or low pressure, you can sauté, use the slow cooker option and increase the time with a low temperature or high temp for quicker options.
I can make rice in about 15 minutes that comes out perfect every time, and yogurt is ready in 8 hours. I absolutely LOVE this thing, and if you don’t currently have one, may I suggest you buy one because you don’t know what you are missing without it.
Italian Sausage and Triple Bean Soup Can be made without the sausage if you need a vegetarian option. I like the addition of the sausage because it is a great change from steak, ground beef, and chicken dishes and is not your typical sausage in Tomato sauce recipe.
Sauté the onions and sausage together on the sauté option of your pressure cooker or in a medium pot if you don’t have a pressure cooker until brown. Next drain off any fat and add the sausage to your slow cooker or crock pot. Add all the other ingredients, turn the cooker on low for 8 hours or high for 4 and you will end up with a great flavorful soup full of protein and good vitamins that is truly a hearty and satisfying meal.
Italian Sausage and Triple Bean Soup Is Comfort food
This recipe makes a lot of soup. You can feed a family of 6 with some left overs for lunch. The other option is to serve for one meal and freeze the rest for another night where a quick recipe would be a big help. Add a fresh loaf of crusty bread slathered with butter to dunk in your soup, for a stick to your ribs dinner.
